Biogas plants produce biogas as the result of the fermentation of biomass, and this energy source is in great demand. Increasing numbers of agricultural concerns rely on biogas to produce electricity and heat. But commercial plants which produce biogas from municipal, commercial and industrial waste are also becoming more important. To guarantee the efficiency of this type of plant, it is necessary to control and monitor the fermentation and gas production processes.
