BASIC EVO – Sensor modules for CO2 gas diffusion applications
The BASICEVO NDIR sensor modules have gas inlet by diffusion. The sensor module is a simple, everything-on-board, low maintenance gas sensor module with a standard digital output interface. The compact construction and the simple interface of the BASICEVO sensor modules make the OEM system or OEM product integration easy. The BASICEVO sensor modules are characterized by low signal drift, selectivity against influencing gases and long lifetime of the sensor modules.
The BASICEVO sensor module is not much larger than a matchbox, measuring only 62 mm x 37 mm x 30 mm (L x W x H) and the warm-up time is less than 2 minutes. Measuring responses are dependent on what target gas the module is designed for. For a CO2 with 5 Vol.-% measurement range the important parameters are response time < 60 seconds, digital resolution 0.001 Vol.-% and repeatability ≤ ±0.05 Vol.-%. These measuring responses are probably standard in the industry, but the BASICEVO sensor module is superior when it comes to span and zero long-term-stability. The zero long-term-stability of a BASICEVO CO2 module is ≤ ±0.1 Vol.-% over a 12-month period, making service intervals in excess of 1-2 years possible.
The BASICEVO CO2 sensor module series is available with three standard measurement ranges; 0…5.000 ppm, 0…10.000 ppm and 0…5 Vol.-%. These ranges cover various application fields such as workplace safety, industrial refrigeration and air conditioning on-demand applications. Special build-in transmitter solutions to provide IP54 protection and easy field gas-calibration HW/SW are available as option.
The current consumption of a BASICEVO sensor module in continuous mode is low (< 240 mA @ 6.0 V) and the inrush current is < 1000 mA. The sensor modules can be operated in a broad range of temperatures between -20 °C and +40 °C. The digital output signal format is either Modbus ASCII or RTU via UART. Concerning the signal output format, Pewatron offers a connection electronic board, where output signals are converted to industrial standard output formats such as 4-20 mA, 0-10 VDC and RS485.
