Fujikura A series (AG2, AP2, AG4, AP4): good media compatibility thanks to special construction

There are a large number of applications for which most commercial piezo-resistive MEMS pressure sensors are not suitable. Pneumatic applications are a prime example. Pneumatics always involves a small amount of oil, something that most MEMS pressure sensors don't react well to in the long run. It weakens the Wheatstone bridge as well as the bonding points and sooner or later the sensor will fail. Even so, piezo-resistive MEMS pressure sensors are still used with success in pneumatics. Arguably the most common sensor in this field is the Fujikura MEMS pressure sensor. Its special construction means the sensor can even be exposed to water – something that hardly any other circuit board compatible sensor in this price range can do. For high-volume projects in particular, it is worth investigating whether an expensive ceramic or stainless steel measuring cell is really necessary or whether it can be substituted with a Fujikura pressure sensor. We at Pewatron are happy to advise you on the right choice of sensor and help to make your product a commercial success.
