HVG(C)-65 series: for LED power around the globe

The right choice whether in Europe, the USA, Canada, or Japan

PEWATRON has launched Mean Well’s new HVG(C)-65 family of 65W power supplies designed for LED lighting applications. With an input range of 180 VAC to 528 VAC, the HVG(C)-65 series is suited for general 230 VAC main input as well as 277/347/440/480 VAC input in the USA, Canada, and Japan. The HVG-65 series focuses on low-voltage output models (54 VDC maximum) while the HVGC-65 series offers higher output voltages (up to 186 VDC). The power units include a two-stage PFC function that enables them to meet the EN61000-3-2 Class C (>60% load) harmonic current limitation and maintain a power factor in excess of 0.9 when loading over 60% (>70% load with 480 VAC). Featuring constant voltage and current modes, they offer 4 kV surge immunity (EN61000-4-5) complying with the requirements of the lighting industry.

The HVG(C)-65 series is available in three models. With A-type HVG-65 and HVGC-65, the DC current range can be adjusted from 60% to 100%; A-type HVG-65 also allows the output voltage to be adjusted ±10% if the rubber stopper on the cover is removed. B-type models have a three-in-one dimming function (0 VDC to 10 VDC, PWM and resistance). D-type models are equipped with a multiple-stage timer dimming function that can be customised on request. Boasting 90.5% efficiency, these units can be cooled by free air convection in ambient temperatures from -40°C to +70°C. Their aluminium case design is fully potted by glue, making them an easy choice for harsh outdoor environments requiring IP65/67 protection.
