The new low-leakage 600W AC/DC MSP-600 series

 

Pewatron has launched the new Mean Well MSP-600 series of 600W AC/DC enclosed medical power supplies. Responding to increased demand for reliable high-wattage medical power supplies, the MSP-600 Series is Mean Well’s follow-up to the successful MSP-100, MSP-200, MSP-300 and MSP-450 series. The new series complies with international medical safety regulations (MOOP level) and features low leakage current rated at 300µA or less at 264 VAC. When it comes to power solutions for non- contact medical applications, the MSP-600 series is a superb choice.

Featuring no-load power consumption below 0.8 W as well as EMI Class B level compliance, these units are perfect for a wide range of ‘green’ medical equipment. The series also boasts an operating efficiency of up to 89% together with a universal AC input of 85V to 264V and output voltage options ranging from 3.3V to 48V. An internal long life DC fan can be activated for forced air cooling that allows full-load operation in ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to +50°C under full load conditions, and even up to +70°C at less than full power. Other standard functions include short-circuit, overload, overvoltage and over-temperature protection, 300 VAC input surge immunity for five seconds, remote ON/OFF control, remote sense, fan ON/OFF control, DC OK signal output and built-in active PFC ensuring a power factor exceeding 0.94.

The entire series complies with UL, CUL, CB and CE regulations for maximum safety. Applications include medical equipment requiring low leakage current, chemical or biological detection equipment, analysis facilities and any system demanding low no-load power consumption. Higher wattage applications can be accommodated by paralleling up to four MSP-600-24, 36 or 48 models for a maximum total power delivery of 2400W.
