Reliable power for medical applications

PEWATRON is launching the new PM150 and PM301 AC-DC switching power supplies from FSP Protek which are specifically designed for medical applications. Both impressive units meet or exceed the safety requirements of the IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60601-1 for 2MOPP and 60950-1 family of standards, making them the perfect choice for medical equipment outside life support, as well as for Laboratory, ITE and industrial appliances.

The PM150 can deliver up to 150 W of continuous power with 7.5 CFM of forced air cooling, or up to 100 W with convection cooling. The PM301 produces up to 300 W of continuous power with 10 CFM of forced air cooling, or up to 200 W with convection cooling. Featuring BF-level insulation and an operational range of up to 5000 m, both power supplies accept 90 VAC to 264 VAC input and use active PFC to generate a power factor of 0.98 in typical conditions. They also boast outstanding operating efficiencies of 89% (PM150) and 92% (PM301), in addition to complying with EN55011 / 55022 and FCC Class B. With short circuit protection and 100% burn-in at full load, these units are built to last.

The PM150 has a small footprint of 2 x 4 inches and a low 1,3 inch profile. The slightly larger PM301 has a footprint of 3 x 6 inches with a 1,5 inch profile. The PM301 also comes optionally equipped with an L-bracket or cover-and-fan assembly that can be added during manufacturing. Other uses for these versatile units include data networking or other computer and telecommunications applications.
